Ever Screwed Up?

“When you make a mistake, there are only three things you should ever do about it:

admit it, learn from it, and don’t repeat it.”

  1. You are so right. *sigh* I keep making mistakes where I’m living. The same repeated ones and I feel like such a jack ass. I am really dreading telling my very generous and kind house mate that again, I spilled something and again, I think I ruined something. I keep telling my slippery fingers to learn, but they won’t. I am so mad at myself and I am not looking forward to the conversation ahead of me. I know she knows I don’t mean to and I know she knows I feel really bad…. but wtf… why can’t I stop?

    • Ah Glasshoppah…some lessons take practice to learn. Dexterity, for example, is something I’m still trying to figure out (especially when walking or sitting or breathing). There’s a difference between accidents and mistakes. Accidents are caused by some outside force we can’t control…..like gravity. Mistakes are caused from within us…..inattention, distraction, not reading the directions, etc.

  2. Good find.

  3. can I just say, I LOVE your pink flamingos. I’m a big fan of all things flamingo. Random comment. Like your post too….

  4. Sometimes I have to make the same mistake a few times until I finally get it.

    • Some of us do have to learn a little more thoroughly. I’m usually one of those too. But the key factor is…..you finally get it.

  5. So true! Hate making mistakes, that’s when I realize as hard as I try I’m not perfect….that sucks! ;)

    • Here’s the best part…..You don’t have to be perfect to be amazing! Just thought you’d like to know. :)

      • Now that’s some advice I REALLY need to listen to…just a little hard to wrap my head around it still. Working hard to define my own kind of perfect is how I rationalize it It was you great idea! :)

      • Ah, but if you were truly perfect then you’d have no room to grow to be even more fabulous!

      • SO true, never thought of it that way….there you go getting my wheels turning again!
